undeniably difficult and inspiring…
The last 3 weeks and into the next year (it seems) I have spent attempting to find my brand, a creation of sorts of who I am, what I believe in, what sort of photographic artist I am, can be, want to be and why I do this, amazing, life touching and creative thing.
I have a deep devotion to my friends. I have a deep love for my God, my country, my children and the fact that I am healthy and of sane mind. (Hey no discussion on that last bit please)
I love humor, I love laughter, I love hugs, I love touching the soul of another human being in a way that gives them pause to appreciate something new or old, from a new perspective. I am serious a lot of the time, as I am trying to focus and bring my life, my business, my very existence to mean something in the greater sense of the planet.
I am of the belief that all that happens to us, unfortunate, inspiring, electric, enveloping, caustic, sad, honest, surreal, real, false or true to the core of humanity is for a greater reason. Like when you take steps up to the top of a building. You might skip a few but because of Gravity(life) You have to step down at some point, to create motion.
I love nature, the fierce tiger, the brut Gorilla, the massive Great White, the stealthy quiet Mountain Lion, the enormity of the Lion, all of these apex predators. They all have a place fitting into their eco system. I believe people aren’t so different, we all live in our own unique skill set, or ecosystem. We add or subtract from that world in which we interact daily and thus we hone out our place in order of the system.
I am trying to find a way to brand my work to encompass all of who I am, so it is transparent, so there is undeniable authenticity in myself and in my work. It is the least and most I can give my clients.
So, I am a nice guy, just ask me, HAHA and my clients seem to really like me. So, being this warm sort of being with lots of texture, like an old bit of wood that has been in the right place at the right time, whenever people who walk along a path need a place to rest. That is me. Reflective, understanding, solid, compassionate, bendable but not breakable. Loyal. Honest. Real.
I hope to find that common thing that sets me apart and be able to tangibly identify that while allowing that to be connected to my work.
